Inspire.Create. Stamping Challenges. Challenge130

Hello and welcome to another Inspire.Create Stamping Challenge. I am Karen Farquhar from Australia. This week our challenge is a blank canvas.
I have submitted a card I made for my son's birthday. I always find it hard to come up with masculine card ideas.
For this one I have created a gate card using an ombre effect to stamp the 'Happy' image from the Biggest Wish stamp set in Mango Melody, Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight inks. Starting from the lightest and graduating down the stamp to the darkest shade I have applied the inks with Sponge Daubers.  Using my Stamparatus I have stamped the image 3 times once for each colour. Unfortunately the Designer Series Paper has retired but I liked the idea of the woodgrain background.

For the inside of the card I have stamped the schooner glass of beer from the Brewed For You stamp set.

Inspire.Create Stamping Challenge 129

Hello and welcome to another Inspire.Create Stamping Challenge. I am Karen Farquhar from Australia. This week we have a theme challenge for you 'Festive'.

For my submission I have chosen to use the Lights Aglow Suite from Stampin' Up!'s July to December 2022 Mini catalogue.

To create the first card I took a piece of 13cm x 29.5cm Very Vanilla cardstock and scored the long side at 4.5cm, 9.5cm,19.5cm, 24.5cm. Creating a gatefold card.

I matched the centre of the tree die along the edge of the first fold of the cardstock and placed edge of my top cutting plate of my emboss die cutting machine on the fold. I then ran the die through to the folded edge of the cardstock only cutting to the middle of the tree. I then repeated this on the last fold of the card only cutting the opposite tree side.

I then die cut a piece of gold glimmer specialty paper with the tree die.

Next I gold embossed the tree stamp onto a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and die cut it as well

I cut the two die cut trees down the centre, then layered and adhered all pieces to the respective tree sides on the front of the card.

I adhered two 4.6cm x 12.6 pieces of gold glimmer specialty paper to the front of the card.

Then embossed two 4.2 x 12. 2 Very Vanilla  cardstock panels and adhered them to the front of the card

I then stamped and gold embossed the 3 stars in the stamp set, die cut them and adhered them to the right hand corner of the card front.

For this card I have used the Brightest Glow Bundle to create this card.

This card was created using a combination of the Labels Aglow Dies Christmas Banners Bundle and the Country Wreaths Bundle.

Inspire.Create Challenge 128

Hello and welcome to another Inspire.Create Stamping Challenge. I am Karen Farquhar from Australia. This week the design team have been set a colour challenge. The colours are Basic Black, Basic Grey, Gorgeous Grape and Pumpkin Pie. These colours just screamed Halloween to me.

I have created some projects using the fun Scary Cute Bundle for my submission today.

My first card is actually a CASE of a card created by Brian King. Brian has used a strip of cropped Halloween Street Specialty Designer Series Paper, stamped a sentiment along the line of the paper and added a fun focal image of a little ghost. I have showcased the trick or treating small boy on a black circle and a larger circle to add space between the boy and the bold stripes along the edge. The DSP Brian has used is now retired so I ruled Gorgeous Grape and Basic Gray lines between the strips of our sparkly black and orange Glitter Washi Tape instead. The white space on the top of this card balances out the heavy strips on the base of the card.

I was itching to add some green to these colours so I have created another card with the cute Frankenstein Monster image from the stamp set in Parakeet Party.

My little fairy princes card could also be a birthday card for a special girl. To create the blended colours on the images I inked my stamp up with the lighter colour and then used a dauber sponge to add the darker colour to the edges. The aim was to depict the Trick or Treaters either walking from darkness to light or vice a versa.

This cute little box was created using instructions from the very clever Benda Quintana.

Inspire.Create Stamping Challenges Challenge 127

Hello and welcome to another Inspire.Create Stamping Challenge. I am Karen Farquhar from Australia. This week we have a CASE the design challenge for you. Our designer is member of our design team the extremely talented Jo Blackman.

There are so many details you could CASE from Jo's creation. You could choose to embellish a journal, replicate her beautiful paper piecing technique or choose the beautiful shading Jo has used in her gorgeous floral design. Jo has used Stampin' Up!'s Sending Smiles Stamp Set but you could choose any stamp set you wish.
I decided to make a Granny Brag Book for a dear friend of mine who became a Grandmother for the very first time.
I have created a mini accordion album in a box. Using the beautiful Abigail Rose Designer Series Paper. I gathered a number of stamp sets off my shelf but I have mainly used the Splendid Thoughts Bundle to embellish my pages.

The album is a concertina style which I have adhered to the inside of a 4" x 4" box and wrapped a decorated cover around. Held closed with a tied ribbon bow.

The album starts with the 'Hello There' page and then concertinas out with a double page per month. Each page has the month number encircled by the wreath from the Cottage Wreaths Stamp Set. To add the gold numbers I have stamped and embossed the set of numbers from the Alphabest Stamp Set and cut them out with my Scan & Cut machine. What I didn't realise is Stampin' Up! have a whole set of number dies in their Design a Treat Box set that would have worked well. I should study my catalogue closer. 😳

I have embellished each facing page so the pages aren't left bear while my friend is working her way through a year of baby photographs. All she has to do is add her photographs the embellishments will frame the sides of the photographs.

For the page below I have Cased Jo's paper piecing technique.

The page below is my favourite maybe she could fit a little photograph on this page.

I have added some tags she could use to record some of her baby Granddaughter's milestones

To create the album I have used 3 sheets 12"x12" Very Vanilla cardstock. The cardstock was cut into 4" strips which I scored the long side at 4"and 8". Folding in an accordion fashion I then adhered each 3rd square of the strips back to face until I had 13 x 4" squares. One for each month and one for the front page. Months 1-6 will be one side of the accordion squares and 7-2 months on the other sides.
To make the box I cut a piece of the sturdy cardboard (that comes in the packets of Designer Series Paper) at 5" x 5" scored all 4 sides at 3/4". Trimmed to the score line at each corner, folded and adhered the sides to form a box.
The cover was created by placing the prepared box on a piece of 12" x 4 5/8" cardstock and wrapping it around the box, marking the box edges where they match up on the cardstock. I then scored on these mark lines to form the wrap around cover. Extra cardstock was trimmed off.
The album was adhered to the inside of the box and the cover was adhered to the bottom of the box.
Attach ribbon around the box to hold the album cover closed.
