Inspire.Create. Stamping Challenges

Hello and welcome I am Karen Farquhar from Australia and I thank you for joining me today for Inspire.Create Stamping Challenge #059. I am writing this post Christmas Eve but by the time it goes live it will be Boxing Day the day everyone heads to the shops for the post-Christmas sales. Everyone except myself that is I'm saving my pennies for the new Stampin' Up! catalogue coming in about a weeks time. However I do hope your Christmas sparkled and your new Year will shine with love, hope and joy.

Today we have a sketch challenge for you. How exciting! I had a bit of fun with this one. My head was in a spin thinking of all the different ideas I could use. I hope it inspires you as well.

I needed a card to coordinate with the framed wreath I had stamped for my Secret Santa gift (photographed further below) so I used the same colours and stamps. This is the card I submitted for the challenge.

And of course you can't give a gift without a coordinating gift tag.

I have used a variety of inks and stamps to stamp the framed wreath which I have provided thumbnails for below

I did mention I had a number of ideas for this sketch so here is another one. I have used some of the same stamp sets but a different colour combination for this card.

Inspire.Create Stamping Challenges #057

Hello and welcome I am Karen Farquhar from Australia and thank you for joining me today for Inspire.Create Stamping Challenge #057. Today's challenge has the theme 'Fancy Fold'. How exciting! I love fancy fold cards. I always try to create a fancy fold card for my grandchildren but today I have created a Christmas card.

I love fancy fold cards. I always try to create a fancy fold birthday card for my grandchildren but today I have created a Christmas card.
The first time I saw the Yummy Christmas Stamp Set I thought ahh a pop-up card.

This card is very easy to assemble. After scoring and folding your card pace a pencil mark at the centre point. Then 2.5cm. or 1" from that centre point cut down 2 cm or 3/4". Repeat this on the opposite side of the centre point. Fold this section outwards instead of inwards and you have created your platform to which you adhere your gingerbread house. Don't go too close to the bottom fold when adhering your little house or it will catch when you close the card.

I have also created some gingerbread house treat boxes with this set. Again very easy.

Stamp out the Gingerbread House image from the stamp set. I used blends pens to colour mine. Make a box by cutting a piece of cardstock 5" x 41/2". Score 5" side at 11/2" and 31/2" turn and score 41/2"side at 11/2" and 3". Trim to score lines on 5" sides to form tabs, then fold to form a box. Use the Cuckoo Clock Dies from the Annual Catalogue to cut the Gingerbread house image and 2 cardstock die cuts. Adhere one die cut cardstock piece to the back of the stamped image and adhere to front of box adhere remaining die cut to back of box. Fill with treats. I will probably refill mine and wrap in cellophane with a ribbon and greeting tag attached. I haven't done this so far as I didn't think they would photograph very well.

Inspire.Create Stamping Challenge #056

Hello and welcome I am Karen Farquhar from Australia and thank you for joining me today for Inspire.Create Stamping Challenge #056. Today's challenge is a sketch challenge.

To create my card I have used the masking technique and sponged the background in the colours Melon Mambo, Flirty Flamingo and Grapefruit Grove to create an ombre effect. I then stamped the images from the First Frost Stamp Set in Tuxedo Black Memento.

For this card I have used the same technique but used varying strengths of blending in Early Espresso Ink to create the shaded effect.

Same again with Basic Grey and Smokey Slate Ink colours.
