Inspire.Create. Stamping Challenges: #161|Theme Challenge All About Love

Hello and welcome to another Inspire.Create Stamping Challenge. I am Karen Farquhar from Australia. This week we have been set the theme challenge 'All About  Love'.

I've been revisiting my love for embroidery lately so I thought I might incorporate some cross-stitching into my card making for this challenge.

I graphed out a couple of simple designs then laid the graph paper designs over my cardstock, pierced the designs through to the cardstock using a sewing pin. Then simply connected the pinpricks with cross- stitches using one strand of DMC embroidery thread.

I have used two designs from two of the gorgeous Sale-a-Bration FREE Designer Series Paper packs as background papers to my designs.

Thank you for dropping by today I hope you are inspired by my projects. Do you feel like you would like to join the Inspire.Create Stamping Challenge?
We really would love to see your creations. Note we need your projects submitted here by 10am. Sunday  (UK time).

Inspire.Create. Stamping Challenges Sketch Design #029

Hello and welcome I am Karen Farquhar from Australia and thank you for joining me today for the Inspire.Create Stamping Challenge #029.
Challenge #029 is a Sketch Challenge

Well with the Christmas Season creeping up very quickly I thought I should get my act together and start on my Christmas card making. So for this week's challenge I have designed a Christmas card with the Dashing Deer Bundle. I have teamed it up with some copper embossing, a Copper Foil Sheet and the Softly Falling Embossing Folder. I liked the way the copper embossing picked up the swirly design on the reindeer.

To coordinate with my card I have created some gift tags using the same Dashing Deer Bundle.
The Joyous Noel Designer Series Paper doesn't photograph so well but it is just beautiful in real life. Seasonal designs on one side and copper foil accents on the other. I skipped over it in the catalogue but after seeing some projects created by a friend I am now on to my second pack.

Thank you for visiting me today. Please, you are more than welcome to enter your projects for the Inspire.Create Stamping Challenges here. We really would love to see your creations. Also pop over for a visit to see the projects of other talented stampers.

Inspire.Create Stamping Challenges #019: 2018-2020 In Colors

Hello and welcome. You are currently visiting Karen Farquhar from Australia for the Inspire.Create Stamping Challenges. For todays challenge we are incorporating the new 2018-2020 Stampin' Up! In Colours: Lovely Lipstick, Grapefruit Grove, Pineapple Punch, Call Me Clover and Blueberry Bushel. I think they look so bright and cheerful together.

For my first card rather than just stamp the colours straight out I have used the stamp set Balloon Celebration and have tried my hand at blending the colours with sponge daubers to see how the colours would work together.

I then again used the sponge daubers but just used each colour separately for each balloon for this card.

As always I have made more stamp images than needed so I added a small coordinating 4" X 4" note card to my collection.

The good news for you is the new Stampin' Up! In Colours are available right now for purchase! Just visit my online store for details.

Global Design Project Colour Challenge #GDP137

Hello and welcome. What a gorgeous colour challenge for Global Design Project #GDP137. Such a pretty combination.

Today is Mother's Day in Australia so I have created a Mother's Day card for my GDP submission. I thought the stamp set 'Flying Home' was so very appropriate with the mother bird feeding her three little chicks. I have 2 sisters and my mother is still always trying to feed us even though we are grown women with grown families of our own.

I have been meaning to try the Embossing Paste for a while now but have been putting it in the too hard box. Silly me though it is as simple to use as spreading butter on a slice of bread but with a more stunning effect and less calories. For my projects I have used the Shimmery White Paste but it also comes in plain white and silver.
I have heat embossed my birdies onto Shimmery White Cardstock, water coloured them for a soft effect, then fussy cut the image and attached it to Whisper White Cardstock.

Every Mother's Day I make a small gift for the mother's in my family. This year I have made some little gift boxes containing a scented candle using the colours from the challenge.

The stamp set I have used is the soon to retire 'Floral Phrases' set. You can find the instructions for these little gift boxes here at Flutter By Heidi. Thank you Heidi for sharing.

And a big thank you to you for visiting me today.
