Inspire.Create stamping Challenges #127 Theme:Celebration

Hello and welcome. For Inspire.Create Stamping Challenges #027 we have a theme challenge 'Celebration' and no other card design says celebrate to me more than a shaker card. Originally designed by the very talented and a friend of mine Louise Sharp. Follow this link to see how Louise has created this clever card design.

My next card has been unashamedly CASEd from the Stampin' Up! annual catalogue. I wanted to showcase the Blow Out The Candles Stamp Set and Framelit Dies Bundle. I loved the sample card on page 77 so much I thought why reinvent the wheel. I just swapped out the colours to suit my colour palette.

Continuing the celebration theme I have fussy cut some of the cute images from the Broadway Bound Specialty Designers Series Paper. You may have already seen a number of projects using the gorgeous black and gold all occasions side of this DSP however the flip side is just as engaging with it's bright party designs. I have created some simple little gift tags to coordinate with my cards.

Another project still using the Broadway Bound Specialty Designer Series Paper is a treat box made with the Petite Treat Framelits

Inspire.Create. Stamping Challenges Challenge #026

Hello and welcome. You are currently visiting Karen Farquhar from Australia for the Inspire.Create Stamping Challenges. For challenge #026 we have a Sketch Challenge. I love sketch challenges because when your mojo is a little low I find they can work as an inspiration springboard.

For my projects I have applied my Shimmery White Embossing Paste to create a subtle pretty background.

The stamp set, framelits dies and designer series paper are from the Frosted Floral Suite. Just one of the beautiful products in our new 2018 Holiday catalogue released this week. See the sidebar to the right to download your copy.

To make the heart shapes I folded a piece of paper in half and cut 1/2 a heart shape on the fold. I then opened the paper out and used both the cut out heart and it's negative left in the paper as paper masks for both cards. I just placed my card fronts and paper masks under my Pattern Party Decorative Mask and spread my embossing paste over the mask.

This 3"x 3" gift card is made from unused stamped gems floating around my craft table. The gorgeous water coloured effect is a feature of this stamp set but I have enhanced the effect by using the Baby Wipe technique which I will showcase more in a future post.

Inspire,Create Stampin Challenges #017

Hello and welcome. You are currently visiting Karen Farquhar from Australia for Stamping Challenges #017 and today we have a sketch challenge for you.

For my card I have turned the sketch to landscape view so I could easily fit my 3 little bears across the card front. I have made the first card for a very good friend of mine who has just been blessed with her first Grandchild, a dear little boy. I am so thrilled for her and her family.
Stamped in Soft Sky with the versatile Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set then punched out with the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch these little bears look to be cheekily pecking through windows.

We also have to have a 'pink for girls' so I have recreated the same design with Pink Pirouette. The bow-ties and bows on my little bears were created by stamping the dotted heart in the Heart Happiness stamp set on some scrap cardstock and then punching out the bow shapes with the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch.

You are more than welcome to enter your projects for the Inspire.Create Stamping Challenges here and have a visit to see the projects other talented stampers have created.
Don't forget to get in early with your orders for any retiring stock, as once they have gone, they are gone never to be available through Stampin' Up! again.

Show Me the Sunshine

Hello and welcome. Here in Australia we are still waiting for relief from our sweltering hot Summer sun and the our cooler Autumn (Fall) weather to kick in. So I found the theme for Global Design Project #GDP135 'Show me the Sunshine' a bit amusing.

The suggestion of a sunny day to me conjures up visions of sitting on the beach in deck chairs soaking up the sun's warmth, so I have stamped out a row of deck chairs in our new 2018-2020 'In Colours'.

I thought the new 2018-2020 'In Colors' were so bright and vibrant they were well suited to a 'Show Me the Sunshine' theme. To get the chairs perfectly aligned I have used my fabulous Stamparatis. A new tool I was lucky enough to purchase when preorder was offered, but will be available to everybody in the upcoming 2018-2019 Annual Catalogue.
The Stamparatus is a must have tool for serious stampers. You can not only position your stamps in the perfect position but you can reapply the ink over the top of the image without the image moving to achieve perfect ink coverage. The feature I love the most is the hinged plates, meaning you can unhinge the stamping plate and move it to the next hinge position and the next and the next to achieve perfectly spaced stamped images.

For my submission to the Global Design Project I left the deck chairs as stand alone on my card front omitting a sentiment. I thought a suitable sentiment could be added to the inside of the card for a Birthday, Retirement or even cheery message to brighten someone's day.

For the above card I did add a Birthday greeting.

Then added a set of individual gift cards in each new 'In Color' to bundle together to give as a gift.

Thank you for visiting me today.
