Inspire.Create. Stamping Challenges #150|Inspiration Challenge

Hello and welcome to Inspire.Create. Challenge number #150. I am Karen Farquhar an Australian Stampin' Up! Demonstrator.

This week we have been set an Inspiration Challenge. The challenge is to create a project from anything that appeals to you in this lovely card created by Hannah McCurley. You could choose to recreate the layout, use the colour scheme. Whatever you wish.

I have chosen Hannah's layout and design but have chosen to use Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight and Black as my colour combination.

I have used the Blending Brushes to apply the Melon Mambo and Daffodil Delight inks to blend the background colours then stamped with Versamark Ink, embossed with Black Embossing Powder. I then sprinkled water over my work to create the splots in the background and 'stamped off'  Mambo Melon for the lighter background leaves.

For this card and the following cards I have used a similar technique but have used a punched out circle as a mask and only used my Blending Brushes and ink inside the template. Again stamping the sentiments and flowers in Versamark and embossing in Back Embossing Powder.

Thank you for dropping by today I hope you are inspired by my projects. Do you feel like you would like to join the Inspire.Create Stamping Challenge?
We really would love to see your creations. Note we need your projects submitted here by 10am. Sunday  (UK time).

Inspire.Create Stamping Challenges Theme: Embossing

Hello and welcome I am Karen Farquhar from Australia and thank you for joining me today for Inspire.Create Stamping Challenge #045. The challenge theme for #045 is embossing.

Embossing is a great method that can be used to add texture and dimension to a card or scrapbook page. The term embossing  is used to describe techniques that result in a raised design on a surface, creating a subtle yet effective design feature.
There are many ways of achieving this effect ranging from methods that require the use of other materials or simple 'dry' techniques that raise the surface of the paper.
The finished surface can be left as is or enhanced further by rubbing inks, chalks and other colourants into the surface to emphasis the embossed design. Some methods include dry embossing, wet embossing, embossing paste and wet paper emboss.
I have included two methods today.

The first is the 'dry' emboss technique. You will notice the button design on the white card stock. This is simply achieved by passing the Button Button embossing folder through a Die and Embossing Machine. Also note the buttons are not only cut precisely but also embossed. This is achieved with Stampin' Ups! new Arts & Crafts die set that not only cuts the dies but embosses them as well with just one feed through the machine. How clever!
The sentiment has been stamped using the wet emboss method. This gives a glossy finish to the wording which probably can't be seen in the photo image.

My second card shows the heat embossing technique. I have sprinkled some clear embossing powder onto my card stock surface after first stamping with a pigment ink called Versamark.
After shaking off the extra powder that hasn't been picked up by the pigment ink I have heated the surface with the craft Heat Gun. The embossing powder melts forming an effective glossy, dry stamped image. Illustrated by the scissor background design.
