Global Design Project #GDP102

Welcome! This week's Global Design Project is a SKETCH inspiration.

With this coming Sunday being Father's Day I decided to create some Father's Day cards this week. I wanted to fit the lettering DAD on the front of the card so I have changed the orientation of the sketch to the horizontal view.
I teamed the Colourful Seasons Bundle with the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper for a masculine feel. I copper embossed the leaf  directly onto the card face with the sentiment and then added an Early Expresso die cut leaf. 'DAD' is die cut from the Large Letters Framelits.

For the younger Dad's in our family I have made some note cards to add to their gifts using the same design and supplies.

Plus a card a little bit different for our new father in waiting.

Thank you for visiting me today for more inspiration pop on over to The Global Design Project.
Happy stamping!

Global Design Project #GDP101 Colour Challenge

It is colour challenge time again for the Global Design Project and the colours for #GDP101 are Night of Navy, Bermuda Bay and Flirty Flamingo chosen by guest presenter Maike Ulbrich Beimler. Each colour challenge week the GDP team select a guest designer for the next colour challenge and Maike was chosen for this week's challenge. Congratulations Maike.

September in Australia means the beginning of Spring, Father's Day and in our family it also means lots of Birthdays. I love the personal touch of giving a handmade card for Birthdays and special occasions and my family and friends have come to expect them, feeling a little neglected if I haven't taken the time to make their own personal card. So I thought I would get a head start on my birthday card making and create a Birthday card for the colour challenge this week.

I have used the Sweet Cupcake Stamp Set along with it's coordinating Cupcake Cutouts Framelits Dies. I wanted to give the cupcake a 3D creamy top so I die cut the cupcake top in whisper white cardstock then using a palette knife I 'iced' the cardstock with embossing paste. I inked up the stamp with the most swirls on it with Flirty Flamingo ink and stamped on top of the wet paste. I then sprinkled the paste with Dazzling Diamonds and set the cupcake top aside to dry. If you try this make sure you clean all the paste off you stamp right away as the paste dries quite quickly.
As I wanted to keep the card soft I only used Night of Navy for the greeting using Bermuda Bay and Flirty Flamingo for the remainder of the card. I loved the effect the new background stamp called Marbled gave the card. A similar result as the shaving cream technique without the mess. Yay!

Rather than a gift I often enclose a gift voucher or some money with their card so I have made a coordinating gift bag with the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits die to hold some Bali money as the recipient will be holidaying in Bali in a few weeks time.

I love the cute little shopping trolley stamp if gives a little hint of what might be inside the gift bag.

I thought this colour combination was so lovely I have also used it to 'pretty up' this month's Hostess gifts.

Global Design Project 100/CASE the Designer Celebration #GDP100

Wahoo! Happy 100th Birthday

http://www.global-design-project.com/2017/08/global-design-project-100-case-designer.html

This week we are celebrating Global Design Projects 100th challenge so the team have decided that the challenge for this week is to CASE a Global Design Project team member of our own choice. I am giving you a little sneak peak from the new Holiday Catalogue to be released next month and have chosen to CASE the beautiful UK demonstrator Michelle Last.

This is just my small thank you to Michelle as recognition for often taking time out of her busy schedule to leave such complementary comments about my GDP posts. I hope I can do her proud.

I have used Michelle's card dimensions and card layout to create a Christmas card.  My background is the Merry Music Specialty Designer Series Paper, the horn is a die cut from a piece of our Copper Foil Sheet using the Musical Season Bundle and I have added a length of 1/8" Real Red Ribbon. The holly spray is from another new stamp set Good Tidings.

While all the supplies were spread out on my craft table I thought I would keep playing and make some coordinating Christmas tags.

Notice the little drummer boy. How sweet is he? I can see me having a lot more fun with this bundle.
If you reside in Australia, do not already have your own Stampin' Up! demonstrator and would love a copy of the new catalogue. Please contact me and I'll arrange for you to receive a copy FREE.
Thank you for visiting my blog today and for more inspiration pop on over to the Global Design Project page here.

Happy stamping.

Global Design Project GDP#099

Hello thank you for dropping by today the Global Design Project this week has a wedding/ anniversary  theme.

http://www.global-design-project.com/2017/08/global-design-project-099-theme.html

With the growing  popularity of  'Giving Trees' these days rather than purchasing household items for the bride and groom I thought a handmade card with an insert for money or a gift voucher would show a bit of thought and care had gone into the gift giving rather than just money in an envelope.

I cut my cardstock to the dimensions of the money being inserted into the card with the cardstock folded around the notes to make a wallet. I then used the gorgeous Detailed Floral Thinlits  to die cut along of the shorter edge of the whisper white cardstock. A piece of Silver Foil Sheet carefully adhered to the back of the floral die cut gave the gift/money card holder an elegant feel. A length of our 1/8" silver ribbon and a small gift tag embossed with a silver sentiment complete the very simple but elegant card.

I then went a step further and made coordinating DVD holders for storage of the Bride and Groom's Wedding Day DVD.

The Wedding DVD holders were made in the same fashion but to the measurement of a DVD disk.

All the products used in my projects are pictured below. If you click on the photos a link will take you straight to my online store.

Thank you for dropping by today. For more great projects visit  the Global Design Project page.
Happy stamping.
