Inspire.Create. Stamping Challenges #142|Inspiration Challenge

Hello and welcome to Inspire.Create. Challenge number #142. I am Karen Farquhar from Australia. This week we have been set an Inspiration Challenge. The challenge is to create a project from anything that appeals to you in this beautiful card created by Tammy Fite. You could choose to recreate the layout, use the colour scheme, the stamp set or the embossing folder. Whatever you wish.

Tammy has used the beautiful Designer Series Paper (DSP) and stamp set Irresistible Blooms from the Online Exclusive Hello, Irresistible Suite Collection
Below Tammy has kindly provided us with the measurements to recreate this card.

Flirty Flamingo:  11” x 4 ¼”, score at 5 ½”;  1 ½” x 2 ½” for sentiment

Basic White:  3 ¾” x 5 1/8”;  scraps for 3 leaves.

                    DSP:     Bottom is 3 5/8” x 1 ¼”

            Top Left is 2 ½” x 3 5/8”

            Top Right is 1” x 3 5/8”

The layout Tammy has used is a patch-work style technique. I have chosen to use the same Hello, Irresistible 6" x 6"designer series paper as Tammy, however I have incorporated the technique into a 12" x 12" scrapbook page of my daughter and her friends. I thought the colours in these papers worked perfectly with the colours the girls are wearing in the photographs.

I started by printing the photograph sizes I wanted to use. I wanted the photographs to be the stars of the pages but not too big to dominate. I positioned my photographs on the page then cut my DSP to fit around the photographs to form a square in the centre of my 12" x 12" page.
For the second page in Pretty Peacock I tried to print my photograph the same size as the block of photographs on the Flirty Flamingo page. This caused some difficulties as my printer wanted to cut the girls on the end in half. Grrr.
I repeated the same method for measuring the DSP to fit around the photograph so this page would coordinate with my previous layout.
Rather than actual measurements I am explaining my method as it should help you recreate a similar layout for any size photograph or cardstock you wish to use.
To keep the pages soft and feminine I have white heat-embossed the flowers from the stamp set and along with the DSP flowers have fussy cut them and added them in bouquets to the page.
