Inspire.Create Stamping Challenges #061

Hello and welcome I am Karen Farquhar from Australia and I thank you for joining me today for Inspire.Create Stamping Challenge #061.
Today we have a colour challenge for you and to be truthful I found this one difficult.

Our colours are Early Espresso, Flirty Flamingo and Pretty Peacock. Not saying they aren't all beautiful colours but I did find combining the three a challenge.
So I pulled out everything in these colours in my craft room, had a sit down and played.

The stamp set Beautiful Promenade has been waiting to be inked up  for a while. So I dusted it off and set to work. The images in this set stamp so clearly they are just beautiful to work with.

I created two cards and a smaller gift card.

And then while I was on a roll I created two more cards using the sponging technique. Sponging gives the colours a softer appearance.

So I ended up with 5 cards in two different styles of using the same colour combinations and different techniques.

Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop January 2020

Welcome to the January 2020 Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop. You are currently visiting Karen Farquhar from Australia and this month's theme is 'Case a Card'. I hope you are inspired by my projects today as I have been inspired by Stampin' Up's! Artisan Jackie Aitken and her beautiful Painted Poppies cards

Although my cards aren't exactly the same I have chosen the stamp set Painted Poppies the layouts, the colours and certain elements Jackie has used for her cards.

These cards will be featured in my upcoming Stamp Club class.
As a part of the January class every year I normally include some form of calendar. This year the ladies will be making this little covered notepad which holds a coordinating Stampin' Up! pen.

The inside reveals a the notepad plus a tear-off calendar and a perpetual calendar to record all those important dates such as birthdays and anniversaries to help keep track during the year.
I have stamped the covers of the notepad and perpetual calendars with the stamps from the Painted Poppies stamp set.

I hope the projects you've seen here on my blog today have inspired you & brightened your day. You are currently visiting Karen Farquhar. Please see the list below & hop through all of the people on the list to see all our projects. Have fun!

Inspire.Create Stamping Challenges #60

Hello and welcome I am Karen Farquhar from Australia. As a proud Australian it breaks my heart to see the devastating impact the current bushfires are having on the land we call home.
My heart goes out to our communities who have lost their homes, their livelihoods and above all their lives during this national crisis.
My thanks goes to our brave Australian men and women who are putting their lives on the line and selflessly fighting the fires.
My deep sorrow is for our land and our defenceless animals who are suffering. Our losses are not being exaggerated by the media we have lost millions of our native animals and some species may never recover. Farmers have lost their livestock and crops and they too may never recover. 19 people so far have lost their lives.
Fortunately the fires did not reach our area but it is now time for all Australians to band together to provide assistance to all those effected by this national disaster. #notfightunite

Thank you for joining me today for Inspire.Create Stamping Challenge #060. The theme for this challenge is 'It's All Relative'.

For my submission I have created a birthday card for my granddaughter, Emily. I guess the 'relative' part comes into it as most cards I make are for my relatives so this card is relative to me.
I have also honoured our beautiful Koalas from the Birthday Bonanza Suite featured in the new 2020 Mini Catalogue. Also staying with the challenge theme 'It's All Relative' as Koalas are symbolic of my country.

I have created a shaker card with the little koalas peeking around the edges of the card window.

Inside view.
I thought with Emily being a teenager now the card might be a bit childish for her but no she said 'what a cool card'. Phew.

And of course a gift tag to coordinate with her card.
