Global Design Project #GDP177 Colour Challenge

Hello and welcome. Global Design Project #GDP177 is a colour challenge. I couldn't resist playing along with this challenge as the colours are so pretty together.

I have created my projects using the Beauty Abounds stamp set from the 2019 Occasions Catalogue.
This stamp set was one of the first sets I purchased from the latest catalogue and it has been sitting there begging to be inked up ever since.

I had some bits and pieces laying around my craft table so I went ahead and created a coordinating 10cm x 10cm gift card and gift tag.

Love the beautiful bokeh dots effect the stamp set has giving varying shades of colour without having to stamp off your stamp.

This set is filled with some great sentiments as well and can be bought as a bundle with coordinating framelits. The framelits dies give us some amazing layered butterflies. Which I will show you in a later post.

This card set is probably a good example of #simplestamping, a promotion Stampin' Up! have running at the moment demonstrating that all you need is paper, ink and stamps to create a lovely card.

Thank you for visiting me today. I hope you find inspiration from my project. For even more inspiration pop on over to the Global Design Project page here.

Inspire.Create Stamping Challenges Challenge #037

Hello and welcome I am Karen Farquhar from Australia and thank you for joining me today for the Inspire.Create Stamping Challenge #037.
Stamping Challenge #037 is a colour challenge and the colours are so pretty together.

Today's cards are very simple and pretty from the Coffee Cafe Stamp Set with it's coordinating Coffee Cups Framelits. I have stamped the coffee cups on separate cardstock then die cut them so I could add some sponged shading to the cups.
For my little flowers I have used Bitty Blooms Punch Pack to punch out my petals and shape into flower sprays. I love these little flower punches.

To create the gift tag I have stamped the cup image on a piece of cardstock folded in half. I then die cut the cup with the top of the cup stamped image positioned just above the fold line. I then die cut a cup lid and adhered the lid to the top of the cup to conceal the fold.

I have also decorated some tiny boxes with the punched out blooms  adding punched out succulents this time.

Thank you for visiting me today. Please, you are more than welcome to enter your projects for the Inspire.Create Stamping Challenges here. We really would love to see your creations. Global Design Project #GDP176 Case the Designer

The Global Design Project for this week is CASE the very talented designer Steffi Helmschrott.

CASE = Copy And Selectively Edit

The idea to CASE a project is to take something you like from the design and make it your own. It could be the stamp set - the colours, the layout, the theme, the images - whatever you like that has inspired you to make a card of your own. Well I really loved Steffi's card- the colours and the layout. I needed to make a masculine card for my Father's upcoming Birthday. So I have used the variation of bright colours for my card background as Steffi has done plus the gears to reflect her circular embossed shapes.

Using the Geared Up Garage Bundle from the 2019 Occasions Catalogue I have created a male Birthday card. Dad has always loved cars, but due to failing health and advancing age he surrendered his drivers licence and sold his beloved car last year. I think if he had of been a teenager when he first got his driver's licence he would have been a real rev head. But due to the economic circumstances of the time he was in his 30's before he learnt to drive and could afford to buy a car.

To create my background I took my Brusho Crystal Colours out of the cupboard and did some experimenting. I used the Brilliant Red, Gamboge and Yellow colours spayed my whisper white cardstock with water, lightly sprinkled my Brusho powders then allowed them to run. I then resprayed the cardstock again and blotted the water off a little. I was happy with the effect but the funny thing is when I turned the cardstock over I liked the back better. So I used the flip side for my card.
The gears were diecut from silver foil then sponged with StazOn black ink to give them a grungy look.

Thank you for visiting me today. I hope you find inspiration from my project. For even more inspiration pop on over to the Global Design Project page here.

Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop Theme: Birthday

Hello I am Karen Farquhar and welcome to the Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop this month's theme is Birthday.
A few months ago I decided to give myself the challenge to complete at least one Scrapbook page a month. Have I carried through with that challenge? No!
So when I saw the title of this month's Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop I though well I could do a Scrapbook page.
My granddaughter has just celebrated her first birthday WOW! time flies. So I won't get too far behind with her Scrapbook album I have created a page of her first Birthday party. (Nana brag time).

To create the page I have used the How Sweet It Is Designer Series Paper from the suite of the same name featured in the 2019 Occasions catalogue. I like to keep my page layouts simple so the photograph is the hero. I have fussy cut the lollies (candies) and cupcakes from one sheet of DSP and raised them on dimensionals to use as my elements. I hand drew and cut the number 1 and have used the Well Said and Large Letters framelits dies for the title.

With some left over pieces I have created a simple coordinating card.

Thank you for visiting me. I hope today's projects have inspired you & brightened your day. Please feel free to hop through all of the stampers on the list below to see all the projects. You won't want to miss any!
