Inspire.Create. Stamping Challenges #143|Sketch Challenge

Hello and welcome to another Inspire.Create Stamping Challenge. I am Karen Farquhar from Australia. This week we have my favourite challenge a sketch challenge.

I have chosen to use the Crafting with you Bundle and the beautiful Designer Series Paper Countryside Inn for my submission today. Two of my favourite new products in the Stampin' Up! 2203-2204 Annual Catalogue. I am so in love with them both.

For my card I have only used a few of the stamps and dies in this set which is perfect for craft lovers. There are tiny buttons, cotton reels, an embroidery hoop and even a Paper Cutter in the die set.
The Countryside Inn DSP is so gorgeous I created Mother's Day gift boxes for the Mothers in my family.

Each little box contained a decorated  Ferrero Rocher Chocolate. the flowers are also from the Crafting with You Die Set.

Inspire.Create. Stamping Challenges #142|Inspiration Challenge

Hello and welcome to Inspire.Create. Challenge number #142. I am Karen Farquhar from Australia. This week we have been set an Inspiration Challenge. The challenge is to create a project from anything that appeals to you in this beautiful card created by Tammy Fite. You could choose to recreate the layout, use the colour scheme, the stamp set or the embossing folder. Whatever you wish.

Tammy has used the beautiful Designer Series Paper (DSP) and stamp set Irresistible Blooms from the Online Exclusive Hello, Irresistible Suite Collection
Below Tammy has kindly provided us with the measurements to recreate this card.

Flirty Flamingo:  11” x 4 ¼”, score at 5 ½”;  1 ½” x 2 ½” for sentiment

Basic White:  3 ¾” x 5 1/8”;  scraps for 3 leaves.

                    DSP:     Bottom is 3 5/8” x 1 ¼”

            Top Left is 2 ½” x 3 5/8”

            Top Right is 1” x 3 5/8”

The layout Tammy has used is a patch-work style technique. I have chosen to use the same Hello, Irresistible 6" x 6"designer series paper as Tammy, however I have incorporated the technique into a 12" x 12" scrapbook page of my daughter and her friends. I thought the colours in these papers worked perfectly with the colours the girls are wearing in the photographs.

I started by printing the photograph sizes I wanted to use. I wanted the photographs to be the stars of the pages but not too big to dominate. I positioned my photographs on the page then cut my DSP to fit around the photographs to form a square in the centre of my 12" x 12" page.
For the second page in Pretty Peacock I tried to print my photograph the same size as the block of photographs on the Flirty Flamingo page. This caused some difficulties as my printer wanted to cut the girls on the end in half. Grrr.
I repeated the same method for measuring the DSP to fit around the photograph so this page would coordinate with my previous layout.
Rather than actual measurements I am explaining my method as it should help you recreate a similar layout for any size photograph or cardstock you wish to use.
To keep the pages soft and feminine I have white heat-embossed the flowers from the stamp set and along with the DSP flowers have fussy cut them and added them in bouquets to the page.

Inspire.Create. Stamping Challenges #141|Fancy Fold

Hello and welcome to another Inspire.Create Stamping Challenge. I am Karen Farquhar from Australia. This week we have been set a Fancy Fold Challenge.

It was my Granddaughter Molly's 18th Birthday this week so I decided to create a circle flip card for her.

To construct this card I cut of piece of cardstock 22cm x14cm then scored it at 5.5cm, 7.5cm, 15cm along the long edge.
I then placed the 6.5cm circle die from the retiring Layering Circles die set at the die circles half way mark on the first fold edge. I lined up the plate for the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine just on the fold edge and cut the half circle. Next I placed the plate edge on the next fold and cut the last quarter of the circle, leaving the centre section between the two folds uncut. I then folded along the score lines in concertina style to create a flip card. See photographs below.  It was a bit tricky and I did have a couple of failures in the process.

To create the DSP panels I used the next size up circle die to cut the circle after penciling in the required positions.

Did you notice some sneak peeks here. Inspire.Create Stamping Challenges #140|Colour Challenge

Hello and welcome to another Inspire.Create Stamping Challenge. I am Karen Farquhar from Australia. This week we have been set a colour challenge. The colours being Bermuda Bay, Mango Melody and Polished Pink and sadly at the end of the month these are some of the colours we will be bidding farewell to.

I felt that this colour combination gave me a holiday or 'beachy' feeling so I have used the sweet Sunny Splash stamp set for my submission today. Another retiring product.

I have stamped the swimsuits from the stamp set in the three challenge colours and then  created three different card layouts. My first card has a centre basic white panel that lifts up to reveal the sentiment inside.

My next card has the folded edge at the top of the card front.

The third card is side opening with a shorter front revealing the 2.5cm strip of designer series paper adhered to the inside right side of the card.

Thank you for dropping by today I hope you are inspired by my projects. Do you feel like you would like to join the Inspire.Create Challenges.

Inspire.Create. Stamping Challenges #139| Sketch Challenge

Hello and welcome to another Inspire.Create Stamping Challenge. I am Karen Farquhar from Australia. This week our challenge is a sketch challenge. I am always amazed at how many different card designs are created from one simple sketch. I love sketches and find them a great stepping stone towards card creativity.

I have chosen to use the designer series paper and Legendary Ride Bundle from the Ready to Ride Suite Collection. This suite is so cool. I am always looking for stamp sets for  boys or for big boys and their toys.

For this card I have stamped the bike image and sentiment from the Legendary Ride stamp set, the background paper and paper strips are from the Ready to Ride Specialty Designer Series Paper and the Adhesive-Backed Studs are too in the suite. So easy.

Thank you for dropping by today I hope you are inspired by my projects. Do you feel like you would like to join the Inspire.Create Challenges?
