Stampin' Dreams Birthday Theme

Welcome to the June, 2018 Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop. You are currently visiting Karen Farquhar from Australia and this month we have a Birthday theme. I hope you are inspired by my projects today.

It must be the Jessica Birthday month not only is it Jessie Holton, our Stampin' Dreams coordinator's birthday month but also my eldest Granddaughter, Jessica, turned 18 years of age this week. I had previously made her a card to mark the occasion but misplaced it so I had to make another.
Using the stamp set Beautiful Bouquet and coordinating Bouquet Bunch Framelits on a background of stencilled Shimmery White Embossing Paste I have created simple but pretty card.

This same Granddaughter is to blame for my passion for Scrapbooking. When she was 3 years old her father was working in England and the family were living there. Her mother, my daughter was regularly sending me photographs of Jessica and her baby brother, Callum. I missed them terribly and decided to start a Scrapbook for each of them which I intended to present to them on their 18th Birthdays.
Well I remembered this last week and thought I had better get Jessica's Scrapbook out of my craft cupboard ready to give her.
But to my dismay I had probably only scrapped one page of her since her 10th Birthday. Oops!  So I had a bit of quick catching up to do.
Amazing how time flies!

Below I have included 2 of the completed pages. One from her year 12 farewell formal and the other taken of her this year. (sorry the photographs have come up a little dark)

Looking back over my first attempts at Scrapbooking I was amazed at how my style has changed over those 14 years. Back then I would spend hours in local craft shops and on the internet searching for coordinating products. Usually with little success. Thank goodness I found Stampin' Up! where I can just hop online and order everything I need in one place and be assured that I will find fully coordinated stamp sets, punches, dies, papers, ribbons, inks and accessories. All delivered to my door within 3-4 days. 💖

Jessica rang me after opening her album to thank me and tell me that my daughter and her Godmother both had a tear in their eye whilst reading through it. Mission accomplished.

Message to self:- as I now have 6 Grandchildren I must try to Scrapbook a page at least once a week so as not to get caught at the last minute again. That's the plan anyway.

Thank you for being part of Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop I recommend following the links below for more inspiration. I can't wait to see everyone else's creations.

Global Design Project #GDP142 Sketch Challenge

Hello and welcome. Global Design Projects #GDP142 is a sketch challenge week. I love the Global Design Project sketch challenges as you don't have to think as most of the work is done for you, just pick your colours and go. Which is good for me as this week I will have a stand at the upcoming Craft and Quilt Fair at Darling Harbour. Commencing this Wednesday it runs right through until Sunday. So I have been busy, busy busy preparing for it. If you happen to be around Sydney from this Wednesday until Sunday call in, say hello and have a look at the gorgeous projects we have been creating with products from the new catalogue.

I have created my card for the challenge using the Time for Tea Suite. I fell in love with the suite as soon as I opened the catalogue. It reminds me of the days as a child shopping with my Mum and as a treat we would call in for a cup of tea and scone at the Tea Room in town. The patterns in the designer series paper reflects the prints popular at the time.

I have added another two cards but I have only just starting to get a feel for this suite so there will be more to come.

Thank you for visiting me today. I hope you find inspiration from my projects. For even more inspiration using this sketch design pop on over to the Global Design Project page here.

Inspire.Create Stamping Challenges #020

Hello and welcome. You are currently visiting Karen Farquhar from Australia for the Inspire.Create Stamping Challenges. For challenge #20 we have a sketch challenge. I love sketch challenges as half the creating is done for you.

I have been like a kid with not just one new toy but a box full this week. Not any box full but a big brown box full of Stampin' Up! happiness. My order from the new annual catalogue has arrived and I have been playing.
I was so pleased to see a new elephant punch with a coordinating  stamp set. The Bundle is called Little Elephant. I probably should have said that the other way around. The stamp set is gorgeous but an elephant punch is something I have wanted for a long time.

Using different colour ways I have created two baby card designs using the same sketch design. The designer series paper is called Twinkle Twinkle and it coordinates with the Little Twinkle Bundle which includes another new punch Twinkle Builder. Below this post I have included thumbnails of all my supplies for you to see.

Here below a few more elephant baby cards. The balloons are from the Blow Out The Candles Bundle. I did say I was playing with my new toys.

Plus the elephant punch has two sized elephants. So you can have a Mummy and baby or Daddy and baby elephant.

I so love the new In Colors and had to stamp out the little elephants to make some quick gift cards.

Please, you are more than welcome to enter your projects for the Inspire.Create Stamping Challenges here and visit to see projects other talented stampers have created.

Global Design Project #GDP140 CASE Designer Brian King

Hello and a warm welcome. I do mean a warm welcome! Winter has arrived right on queue and it is a little chilly. Without sunshine streaming through the windows the lighting inside our home is very dull so I have been ducking outside in between showers today to photograph my cards.

The Global Design Project for this week is CASE the brilliant Designer Brian King. Brian's website is a great resource place to visit as he as with most Stampin' Up! demonstrators is only too willing to share his knowledge with you. He is especially great with colour.

To CASE Brian's Card I have used his layout and sentiment and changed his floral spray to topiary trees using the stamp set Vertical Greetings. To 'ground' my pots I have used the cobblestone embossing die from the Build a Bike Framelits as a substitute for Brian's blending on the bottom of the page.

For my second card I have stayed with Brian's design but because of a stamping whoopsie right at the completion of my stamping I have added another potted tree on the right hand side.

What do you do with the left over stamped images? I fashion some coordinating gift tags.

From June 20-24, 2018  I will be a store holder at the Craft & Quilt Fair at Darling Harbour. As part of our promotion we will have show bags containing the 2018-2019 catalogue for you to purchase. Included in the show bag will be a few other exciting goodies that I am preparing at the moment and as a thank you for purchasing the catalogue you will receive a gift card designed by one of the 5 demonstrators running the stall. Below is the card I have created.

40 cards completed and ready to pack. Phew!

Thank you for visiting me today. I hope you find inspiration from my projects. All of the products I have used today are available in our new 2018-2019 Annual Catalogue. Just click on the thumbnails below and they will take you straight to my online store.
