Inspire.Create. Stamping Challenges: Theme Challenge|Christmas

Hello and welcome to another Inspire.Create Stamping Challenge. I am Karen Farquhar from Australia. This week we have been set a Christmas theme.
Wow with all the Christmas crafts I have been creating the biggest challenge was to decide which project to submit.

Over the years I have made an Advent Calendar box for each of my Grandchildren. Just to give them a bit of lead up fun until the big day.
In the past I have decorated the Stampin' Up! Christmas Countdown Kit. However Stampin' Up! have now retired the kits so I had to go to plan B and create my own design for my newest Grandson.

This Advent calendar is in a book format.
The cover is made with cardboard that I have kept from my Designer Series Paper Packaging. I never throw this away because it is perfect for mini scrapbook albums.
Cut 2 pieces of cardboard 18 x 25 cm (7.1" x 9") and one 6 x 25 cm ( 2.4" x 9.8")
Lay your pieces out with the smaller section between the two larger cardboard sections.
Leave a 5 millimetre gap between each section.

I wrapped the cardboard with 2 pieces of 30 x 30 cm (12" x 12") Basic White Cardstock adhering the overlapping edges of the cardstock together  to create a book cover.

Inside the book are 24 lidded boxes. The box dimensions are 5 x 5 x 2.5 cm (2" x 2"x 1")
Unfortunately I could only fit in 24 boxes so the little fellow will miss out Christmas Day. I am sure with all the excitement of the day he won't notice. Adhere the boxes to the inside cover.
My boxes are decorated with the Merry Bold & Bright Designer Series Paper from the Mini Catalogue. I chose this paper for it's beautiful, bright Christmas colours.
For an idea of what to fill the boxes with I used some small cars I found at the local supermarket, candy canes and chocolates. Having to keep in mind he is only one year old and the risk of him swallowing tiny objects.

I also created another Advent Calendar box for an older Granddaughter as she had been sharing one with her sister.
She is moving out to the west to work at a Grain Storage site until she starts her university degree next year. So I have made a box for her to take with her.

I don't know if using the Beary Christmas Designer Series Paper for her was a good idea as it will be extremely hot were she is in the lead up to Christmas. (over 40° F) I chose this paper as she loves animals. Maybe the ice flakes and polar bears might help her feel a little cooler.
I managed to find this new calendar kit on eBay so I felt very lucky when I found it.
Unfortunately some of the polar bears lost body parts when I made the finger holes so I fussy cut some bears from my second sheet of DSP and raised them with Stampin' Dimensionals to add interest to the scene.

I filled her boxes with Hershey nuggets decorated with the coordinating papers from the same DSP pack.
The die cuts are from the Wishes All Around Dies.
