Inspire.Create Stamping Challenges Theme: Pets Challenge #39

Hello and welcome I am Karen Farquhar from Australia and thank you for joining me for Inspire.Create Stamping Challenge #039. Today's challenge is 'Pets'.

I used the challenge to create my animal loving Grandson a card for his birthday. The two dogs represent the family's two much loved Labradors. They are always tussling with each other and falling over each other to get to the back door for the first pat. For this reason I have entwined them on the card.

For my teenage Grandchildren's birthdays I like to give gift card vouchers so I am always on the look out for gift card holder designs. At my last Onstage I was given a clever pop-up gift card holder as a swap. I have altered the measurements so I could insert my gift card inside. This is the outside of the card.

When the card is opened the inside pops up to reveal the concealed  gift card from a pocket inside the card.
I have stamped the inside so the card isn't plain once the gift card is removed. The gift card fits over the Happy Birthday stamping.

Instructions are as follows:

Base card stock: 12.5cm x 25cm scored at 6cm and 17.5cm along long side.
Whisper White inside insert: 12.5cmx 9.5cm scored at 3.5cm and 11cm along long side.
Top front panel stamped Whisper White card stock: 11.1cm x 5.6cm.
Lower front panel DSP: 11.1cm x 7.1cm.
After scoring base card trim off 5cm each side from 17.5cm score line to top of card.
Fold in remaining 5cm on either side forming tabs on either side. Fold base up from lower score line and adhere 5cm tabs to card to form a pocket.
Adhere top edge of Whisper White inside insert to top inside edge of top flap. Fold Whisper White insert up along 1cm lower score line. This holds the gift card in place when the card is opened to stop it from being left behind in the pocket. Next slip the folded Whisper White card stock piece into the pocket and insert gift card into the slot.
Stamp to decorate as desired.

Stampin Dreams Blog Hop Theme: Easter

Hello I am Karen Farquhar and welcome to the Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop this month's theme is Easter. Yep it's time to start planning those Easter Projects.

For my Easter Project I am sharing an Easter home decor sampler I have created by stamping and water colouring the dear little animals from the Fable Friends Stamp Set.
The frame is a 9" x 9" frame from Ikea.

You may have meet this little bunny before he/she was the inspiration for my sampler. He/she is a CASE from the very talented Nicole her style is just beautiful and I couldn't resist including him/her in my project incorporating her lovely colour combination of Grapefruit Gove, Melon Mambo and Old Olive throughout the rest of my project.
I will be offering this as a class on the 6th April, 2019. You may email me at kackles355gmail.com for more information.

Thank you for visiting me. I hope today's project has inspired you & brightened your day. Please feel free to hop through all of the stampers on the list below to see all the projects. You won't want to miss any!

Global Design Project #GDP179 Theme: Sweeter Than Candy

It was a happy coincidence for me to find that the #GDP179 theme 'Sweeter Than Candy' ties in perfectly to the projects I have been designing for my Stamp Club this month.
I have been itching to showcase the How Sweet It Is Suite so this was the perfect excuse to do so.

I have made a fancy fold card for my first project as the card was designed for a child. I loved interactive cards as a child. It is very simple card, the inside pop-out is the same width as my card which is the width of an A4 sheet of card stock. I folded my piece of card stock in half then quarters. The two outside squares are adhered to either side of the card's interior with the centre folded outwards to give the pop-up effect when the card is opened.

There is very little stamping as the motifs are all cut from the beautiful How Sweet It Is Designer Series Paper either by fussy cutting or with the Jar of Sweets Framelits Dies.

My Grandson loves Gummy Bears so I had to use the Gummy Bear DSP sheet in the packet to decorate my Sweet Cup which will of course be given filled with Gummy Bears.

Thank you for visiting me today. I hope you find inspiration from my projects. For even more inspiration pop on over to the Global Design Project page here.

Inspire.Create. Stamping Challenges Sketch Challenge

Hello and welcome I am Karen Farquhar from Australia and thank you for joining me today for Inspire.Create Stamping Challenge #038.
Challenge #038 is a Sketch Challenge

I have chosen the Floral Romance Suite for my projects today. The Wonderful Romance Stamp Set from this suite coordinates beautifully with the Wonderful Floral Framelits Dies
For the side panel in the sketch I have used a strip of the gorgeous Floral Romance Special Designer Series Paper and laid it over Soft Sea Foam card stock for a soft pretty card. For an element I have then fussy cut a floral spray from the same Special Designer Series Paper. You will notice that the paper is actually vellum, one of two vellum designs in the pack.

My next card still reflects the sketch design however I have used one of the Wonderful Floral Framelits Dies to give the card what I think is an elegant edge. The leaf elements were also cut with framelits dies from the pack. A Frosted Flower Embellishment completes the card.

Using the same die cuts I have made a belly band for one of our  Acetate Card Boxes this time completing it with the Petal Pink/Whisper White Variegated Ribbon also a member of this lovely suite. The Acetate Card Boxes hold 5 standard cards plus C6 envelopes. Perfect for storing your finished cards or packaging your cards as a gift.
