Show Me the Sunshine

Hello and welcome. Here in Australia we are still waiting for relief from our sweltering hot Summer sun and the our cooler Autumn (Fall) weather to kick in. So I found the theme for Global Design Project #GDP135 'Show me the Sunshine' a bit amusing.

The suggestion of a sunny day to me conjures up visions of sitting on the beach in deck chairs soaking up the sun's warmth, so I have stamped out a row of deck chairs in our new 2018-2020 'In Colours'.

I thought the new 2018-2020 'In Colors' were so bright and vibrant they were well suited to a 'Show Me the Sunshine' theme. To get the chairs perfectly aligned I have used my fabulous Stamparatis. A new tool I was lucky enough to purchase when preorder was offered, but will be available to everybody in the upcoming 2018-2019 Annual Catalogue.
The Stamparatus is a must have tool for serious stampers. You can not only position your stamps in the perfect position but you can reapply the ink over the top of the image without the image moving to achieve perfect ink coverage. The feature I love the most is the hinged plates, meaning you can unhinge the stamping plate and move it to the next hinge position and the next and the next to achieve perfectly spaced stamped images.

For my submission to the Global Design Project I left the deck chairs as stand alone on my card front omitting a sentiment. I thought a suitable sentiment could be added to the inside of the card for a Birthday, Retirement or even cheery message to brighten someone's day.

For the above card I did add a Birthday greeting.

Then added a set of individual gift cards in each new 'In Color' to bundle together to give as a gift.

Thank you for visiting me today.

Let's Party!

Hello and welcome. Global Design Project #GDP134 is a Sketch Challenge. So continuing with my own challenge to use my Designer Series Paper before it retires I have based my cards around the Picture Perfect Party Designer Series Paper

I have created a gift card holder with the also soon to be retired Mini Treat Bag Thinlits. Just pull on the ribbon to reveal a gift card holder stamped with the Picture Perfect Birthday coordinating stamp set.

Using the same sketch from the challenge I have created 5 easy cards with the different designs in the DSP pack, coordinating them with different coloured cardstock.

The party blowouts card is my favourite. I love the way the colours pop against the Bermuda Bay cardstock.

So I now have a stash of genetic birthday cards on hand which took very little effort to create. Yay!

Thank you for visiting me today. Make sure you drop on over to the Global Design Project website the projects people created this week are truely awesome. I am in awe at other people's creativity. You can enter your own projects as well.

Also a reminder to enter your own projects in the
Inspire.Create Challenges website. Show the world your own creativity using our retiring In Colours. We would love to see your work.

Stamping Dreams Blog Hop Favourite DSP

Welcome to the April, 2018 Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop. You are currently visiting Karen Farquhar from Australia and this month's theme is 'My Favourite Designer' Series Paper. I hope you are inspired by my project today.

I love this theme. Kylie Bertucci coined the hashtag ‘love it chop it’ and that’s what I intend to do for the next 2 months with my retiring Designer Series Papers. I have hoards of retired designer series paper taking up space in my craft room I felt was too precious to cut. But with my current Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Papers about to retire I am going to take Kylie's advise and use as much as I can to make way for the beautiful new papers on the way.

In a way this month's Stampin’ Dreams Blog Hop theme was a bit difficult. 'Favourite DSP' mmmm which one to choose?
I decided to create a Grandmother's Brag Book of my newest Granddaughter using the gorgeous Painted with Love Designer Series Paper from the 2018 Occasions Catalogue. This paper has gold foil accents on one side and brushstroke imagery on the other. 12 sheets: 2 each of 6 doubled-sided designs.

I had such fun creating this album. In between each page there are 3 hidden pockets to insert extra photographs, personal information and keepsakes. This is one of the sweet pages hidden in the pockets.

Thank you for being part of Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop I recommend following the links below for more inspiration. I can't wait to see everyone else's creations.

Inspire.Create Stamping Challenge #016

Today we are paying tribute to our retiring colours Dapper Denim, Emerald Envy, Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach and Sweet Sugarplum.Yes it is that time of the year, the new catalogue is due to be released in June and we must say goodbye to our In Colour friends for the past 2 years.
Sad but true. But to keep Stampin' Up! fresh and up to date it must be done to make way for another 5 beautiful colours.

I have created a scrapbook page for the challenge incorporating all 5 retiring colours and have used the stamp set Lovely Friends fitting when you have grown a friendship with these colours over the past 2 years.
Mind you my 'lovely friends' on this Scrapbook page may not like finding themselves looking back from their computer screens. But sorry girls had to do it. 😂

This came about when one night we were attending a team meeting and while I was making a presentation they managed to have a play with my mobile phone. I discovered a little surprise next time I opened my photo app. Hilarious! You may even be able to guess who the person on the right is. Hint: visit the Inspire.Create Stamping Challenges webpage here.

I have also created a little something for the card people. A box of coordinating gift cards using the same colours and the retiring stamp set Good Friends.

You are more than welcome to enter your projects for the Inspire.Create Stamping Challenges Colour Challenge here and have a visit to see the projects the rest of our team members have created.
Don't forget to get in early with your orders for any retiring stock, as once they have gone they won't be available to order through Stampin' Up! again.
Below are some of the retiring In Colour products. Click on the thumbnail to take you directly to my Online Store, and browse all the last chance products available.
Have fun shopping. Sorry only for Australian residents.
