Global Design Project #GDP088

Global Design Project #GDP088 is a CASE the Designer challenge from Shawn De Oliveira

http://www.global-design-project.com/2017/05/global-design-project-088-case-designer.html

I have taken the layout of Shawn's Design but given the 'Oh So Succulent' Bundle a last hooray. I was so excited when I first saw this set from the Occasions Catalogue and jumped straight in and made a number of projects using the set.

This is my take on Shawn's design.

These are some other projects I have made with this versatile set

When I last checked the set was still available in my Online shop but only until the end of this month then it will be gone forever.

Thank you for visiting my blog. Don't forget to head on over to the Global Design Project website for some great inspirational projects.

Happy stamping!

Global Design Project #087

Global Design Project #087 has a Cooking, Baking & Making theme

http://www.global-design-project.com/2017/05/global-design-project-087-theme.html

For GDP#087 I have chosen to combine the old with the new. I have made a piece of cake from the soon to be retired 'Cutie Pie' Thinlits set, stamped with the 'Sweet Stack' stamp set, plus a shaker card using the soon to be released 'Birthday Memories' Designer Series Paper and using one of it's coordinating framelits from the 'Birthday Friends' framelit set to die cut it. How exciting no need for fussy cutting with this paper.

I have been waiting for a sunny, bright day to capture a good photo but our gloomy Autumn weather isn't ideal for photography so my photo isn't as clear as I would have liked.

So pleased you have visited my blog I hope you can gain some inspiration for your craft projects. Please come and see me again.

Happy stamping.

Happy Mother's Day

As a Mother's Day gift for the special Mums in my family I have made these tiny purses. They are big enough to hold 3" x 3" cards and envelopes. I have filled these purses with some little treats for them to sit back and enjoy. If Mums ever get a chance to do that.
As we will be saying goodbye to all our current Designer Series Papers within the next few weeks I thought this would be a lovely way to use the papers.

This design is a CASE from Becky Roberts an American Demonstrator who has so many amazingly clever ideas.

If you would like to make these little purses you will need:
1 piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) 11" x 3-1/2"
Coordinating cardstock 2-1/2" x 5-1/8" scored on all four sides for purse base
3 x 1/2"strips of A4 cardstock cut from the long side
2 x 1/2 strips cut at 6" long for handles

To construct the purse make the 2-1/2" x 5-1/8" cardstock into a box  then wrap the DSP around the outside making sure it is level with the base of the box adhering with 'Tear and Tape' as you go.
Adhere the 1/2" strips to the bottom of the box, around the top and inside top.
Adhere the 6" strips of cardstock for handles to both sides.
Decorate as you like.
All the other measurements I have seen online require you to use 12" x 12" cardstock for these gift purses so a big thank you to Katie Legge for providing me with the measurements to be able to use the Australian A4 size cardstock.

Thank you for visiting my blog. Happy Mother's Day to all the Mum's.
Have a lovely day.

Global Design Projest #086

The cards I have made for today's post have been inspired by Global Design Project #GDP086 a sketch challenge by Julie De Guia.

http://www.global-design-project.com/2017/05/global-design-project-086-sketch.html

The diagonal stripes in the sketch immediately reminded me of the stripes in the soon to be released 'Color Theory' Designer Series Paper Stack. The work of deciding how to blend the different tones has been done by Stampin' Up! so all I needed to do is to cut and glue. I die cut the very cute little wooden chair from 'Seasonal Layers' Thinlits as a background to the sentiment.
I can think of a husband and wife team considering retirement at the moment and joining the grey nomads so I think these cards will be set aside for them.

If you are wondering why you can't find the products I have used in the current catalogue it is because they will be released on the 1st of June in our new catalogue.
One of the great perks of being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator is you get a whole month before catalogue release to purchase and play with some of the new products first. Just another great reason to join my team.

Thank you for visiting my blog today. For more fun ideas to get your creative juices flowing pop on over to the Global Design Project website for some great inspiration.

Bye for now. Happy Stamping!

Global Design Project #GDP085

Global Design Project #085 is a colour challenge. We were to use 3 of the retiring In Colours just to make us even more sad about saying goodbye to these lovely colours.

http://www.global-design-project.com/2017/05/global-design-project-085-colour.html

I have chosen Watermelon Wonder, Cucumber Crush and Delightful Dijon for my project. Also sad to see go is the Balloon Adventures Stamp Set and the Balloon Pop-Up Thinlits Dies which are also on the Retirement List.
Although the dies are designed to use as a pop-up card as shown further on in this post the dies are really versatile and can be used in so many other ways.
I have made a card with a 'see-through' front and a treat box containing Hershey Chocolate nuggets for this weeks project.

The cute treat box containing Hersey's chocolates again using the Balloon pop-Up Thinlits Dies matches perfectly with the card. YouTube instructions for this box designed by Kelly Acheson can be found here

Below are two of my versions of  Pop-Up cards for which the dies were designed.

A girly Pop-Up card for my Granddaughter's 10th Birthday

Plus a boys version with a matching gift card holder I made for my Grandson.

Both got a thrill out of the surprise pop-up when they opened the card.
